HAVE PRETTY IMAGES
We are living in the dumbest timeline.

I cringe whenever I read the word cis.

You know that posts can be deleted, right?

It’s been deleted since there was already a thread on the topic.
But sorry accurate terminology bothers you. I’ll continue to use it as water is wet, the sky is blue and cis- is an appropriate prefix to clarify.

Yeah, but pretty pictures and venture bros reference.

Oh, I didn’t get the reference. )=

I don’t think there needs to be a clarification. If someone wants to identify as something else that’s fine. My cousin thinks he’s a female dragon, which is whatever. But there doesn’t really need to be a word to label me as a non dragon person because that’s ridiculous why would you assume I’m anything but my appearance unless told otherwise.

Except trans people actually exist, there’s studies indicating that at least in some cases, the brain structures of trans people tend to follow those of the gender that they identify as where they differ, and the treatments with by far the most effective outcomes involve transition to living as the gender that the trans person identifies as (whether that’s a social transition, a hormonal transition, and/or a surgical transition). And, someone transitioning isn’t hurting anyone.

As long as trans is a clarifier, cis is one as well. Until we get to that happy day when people get over who’s genitals do what, which is probably going to be a while.
Also, there’s more transpeople than trans dragon people. Probably why they’ve had a bigger voice in society on how they like to be described (with obvious individual exceptions)

I assure you it can always get much dumber or worse.

I wish it was dumb in a positive way though. Like a “Free Ice Cream Day”

I have zero issue with trans people. Other than the children who go through gender reassignment because I feel like that’s a big commitment even as an adult. I mean I thought I’d be fine with my tattoo forever when I was 18 and I was wrong about that. I’m not saying trans people aren’t a real thing either. I don’t want to say that I feel like there doesn’t need to be a word for “normal people” because I don’t think trans people are necessarily abnormal. But why does there need to be a qualifier for people who just are? If the goal is equality why are we differentiating?

You do see the double standard here right? Trans people are allowed to choose how they are referred too, but because I’m not trans I don’t get to say that I don’t want to be called cis.

No. No one chose to be called trans. But it’s better than the alternatives cis people have given them.
They’re not the ones refusing to recognize themselves. Take your woe-is-me act elsewhere.
